Keyword Research Services – Great Idea Or Non Starter?

If you aren’t a guru then you may (like me) find keyword research difficult. Finding keywords isn’t actually the problem. I have a problem finding good ones.

I always believed that Google’s keyword tool gave highly accurate results. After all, they should be giving out accurate info. Well, that’s not always the case.

The keyword data you see will be out of date and wrong. However it would have been when they collated it. I discovered the answer almost by pure chance.

I homed in on a key phrase with roughly 5000 competing websites. I was feeling confident enough to rank well with this one. I put out probably thousands of articles.

It didn’t take long to notice there were now over 9000 competing sites. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I started to think thinks weren’t going to be easy as I thought. As it happens most of these extra results were my articles on these different sites.

What I’m saying is that I would have left it alone had I saw over 9000 competing sites. A lot of these sites were ranking with my article so I had a lot of competition but most of it was my own articles. A nice situation to be in!

I got lucky on that keyword but I suspected I may not get lucky again so I made the decision to try out a keyword research service. I liked the idea of good keywords being delivered to me every day. Balancing cost against time taken (by me) seemed to prove it could be a valuable asset.

Of the keyword research services on offer I opted to try Travis Sago’s Instacash. Let’s face it, Travis is THE bum marketer. And I like bum marketing, I like it a lot.

It takes me an hour or two to come up with a couple of decent keywords. Getting them delivered is a huge help. An hour or two of my time is highly valuable to me when all I have is time. If I contrast a couple hours of my time against the cost each day it has to be value.

I get a lot of emails from gurus banging on about outsourcing. I reckon there’s not much difference here. I’m giving my keyword research to someone else to do. That’s outsourcing.

If you want to hear about my trial of the Instacash service get yourself over to my website. I said earlier about how I got loads of articles published for my chosen keyword. I’ll show you how I did that at my site.
